Left Front of the Arts (ЛЕФ) - Unisex Creator iconic t-shirt (STTU755)
Depicts Gorbachov as pictured in Gorbachev, Last Soviet Leader, Resigns; U.S. Recognizes Republics' Independence (The New York Times, 1991), Tatlin's Tower and Yuri Gagarin (first human in space) as pictured in Man Enters Space (The Huntsville Times, 1961). Set in an original stylised logotype of the LEF (Left Front of The Arts), a journal chronologing various avant-garde arte and thinking in 1920s early Soviet era Russia, with a view towards furthering communism.
LEF [ЛЕФ] was the journal of the Left Front of the Arts [Левый фронт искусств; Levy Front Iskusstv], a wide-ranging association of avant-garde writers, photographers, critics and designers in the Soviet Union. It had two runs, one from 1923 to 1925 as LEF, and later from 1927 to 1928 as Novyi LEF [New LEF]. The journal's objective, as set out in one of its first issues, was to "re-examine the ideology and practices of so-called leftist art, and to abandon individualism to increase art's value for developing communism."
